13/03/2014 - MOC Mediterranean Open Championship Orienteering 2014 in Tuscany ready to start

 

MOC ante portas! Hot fights for medals exspected. MOC trainig camp found a great showdown yesterday at sunny weather with qualification race in Venezia and the big final in Chioggia at southern part of the lagune. Tricky courses by Janne Salmi – the camp leader – made toprunners very satisfied. Also Danish team took part at the training in Chioggia with the best ranked lady Emma Klingenberg. Strong races were again shown by Daniel Hubmann and Rahel Friederich. All runners are moving Thursday morning in to Tiscany to Montecatini Terme, where first stage of the tenth anniversary of MOC will start in the afternoon. 300 competitors and many worldchampions and medallists will take part. Todays race will a sprint race in the park of Montecatini Terme. Toprunners will fight for price money and this makes it additionally challenging. In masters category we see from Estonia the Olympic champion from 1972 in high jump Juri Tarmak and the silver medalist of 1984 in down hill skiing Peter Müller, who also was Wrld Champion and winner of 18 World Cup races. The staff with event director Mr. Gabriele Viale is ready – siamo pronti.
