Park World Tour Italia made its mark at Venla 2025, the thrilling women’s orienteering relay held annually in Finland as part of the legendary Jukola event – one of the most iconic and competitive fixtures on the international calendar. The Italian team – composed of Giulia Dissette, Caterina Dallera, Annarita Scalzotto, and Jessica Lucchetta – was the only all-Italian team among the 1,475 teams at the start line. The PWT Italia athletes significantly improved on last year’s 324th place, finishing this edition in a strong 159th place overall, thanks to steady progress throughout the race:
-
Giulia Dissette completed the first leg, placing the team in 310st,
-
Caterina Dallera gained ground, reaching 224th,
-
Annarita Scalzotto continued the upward trend, bringing the team to 193th,
-
and Jessica Lucchetta finished strong and secured 159th place.
Team Manager Gabriele Viale commented:
“In one year we’ve moved from 324th to 159th place. Our athletes keep improving on the international stage. Jukola is a true world championship for clubs. We’re proud to be here.”
PWT Italia’s presence at Venla isn’t only about competing: the team is also in Finland to promote future events, especially the 5+5 Days Sardinia 2025, one of this year’s highlights on the international orienteering end-season calendar.
Now all eyes turn to the men’s Jukola night relay, which kicks off at 11:00 PM. Several PWT athletes will compete with their respective Scandinavian clubs:
-
Sebastian Inderst (Göteborg Majorna OK 1),
-
Mattia Debertolis (IFK Lidingö SOK 1),
-
Marco Anselmo Di Stefano (Lahden Suunnistajat-37 1).
For Sebastian, Mattia, and Jessica, Jukola 2025 serves as an important test ahead of the first round of the World Cup, taking place next week in Idre Fjäll, Sweden.
