Alberobello and Monopoli are ready to welcome the XVII MOC Championships and all orienteers entered from 15 countries. The clue dates will be on Saturday 19th March afternoon the town of “Trulli” Alberobello and on Sunday 20th March in Monopoli to know who will be the King and Queen of MOC Championships 2022.
The event is a real join forces between the Italian Orienteering Federation FISO, Park World Tour Italia, Sport Orienteering School, Circolo Velico Lucano, Puglia Region and Puglia Promozione, together with the local municipalities and authorities. A perfect end for a week of o-trainings with MOC Sprint camp in Francavilla in Sinni, Rotondella, Policoro and Castellaneta.
Looking back 20 years ago, Alberobello was the first historical PWT race won by Yuri Omletchenko in MElite class and Hanne Staff in WElite. For the 2022 edition we will be at the start athletes from Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Great Britain, Denmark, Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Sweden, Ireland, Israel, Belgium, Finland and Spain. A first real test before WMOC 2022 from 8th to 16th July in Gargano.
Madonna di Campiglio – Not only Orienteering
Madonna di Campiglio area, right below the Dolomites (UNESCO World Heritage Site), extends from the 370meters of altitude of Lago d’Idro to the 3400meters of altitude of Adamello massif located in the National Park Adamello Brenta. A real paradise of untouched nature, hiking trails and stunning views.
5 Days 2022, together with the notorious plateau Grostè and Campo Carlomagno areas for next summer will offer a part of the area with newly mapped areas from Pradalago toward Fortini and Campo Carlomagno and next to Patascoss.
