13 Aug 2019 - Elite Team, News

First exam at World Orienteering Championships 2019 passed for PWT Italy athletes Sebastian Inderst and Riccardo Scalet! Both runners manage to pull out a stable performance at Middle distance qualification which allowed them to comfortably qualify for the final.

The words from the two PWT Italy representative after the race

Sebastian: “At the start I didn’t want to make mistakes so I started carefully to get a good feeling with the map. At half of the race I made some inaccuracies that costed me a little more than one minute. Overall the time and feeling was good and I’m looking forward for the final

Riccardo: “I had a good start without pushing at my maximum and focusing on the technique. Around half of the race, there was a control on the hill side and I kind of lost my concentration and I missed that control for 1-2 minutes. From there on I told myself to rest everything and finish the race with no mistakes. Now all the focus is for the middle final
