PWT Italy wins and convinces at the Marche Orienteering Outdoor Days
Three days of adrenaline and emotions for PWT Italy at the Marche Orienteering Outdoor Days, which leaves for the second peak appointment (after the MOC) of the load season even if struck by the significant defections of Riccardo and Carlotta Scalet.
Capital performance of the whole team in the 3rd Sprint stage of the FISO Italian Cup. On Saturday 23rd of April in Recanati, the city of Infinity and of its author Giacomo Leopardi, the colors of the PWT triumphed on the male H Élite podium with Lukas Patscheider, on the first place, and Sebastian Inderst, second. Confirmation also for women with Giulia Dissette first in W20 and Celeste Pretto in W14. The juniors Guglielmo Viale (6th in M20), Alessandro Bedin (15th in M18), Pierantonio Pretto (10th in M50) and Katiuscia Sibiglia (4th in W45) also did well. Absolute debut of Annarita Scalzotto in W Élite, second classified, and of Giorgio Tonda in M Élite, eighteenth.

On Sunday 24th of April in Ancona the test valid for the Knock-Out Sprint Championships still proves the team’s Achilles heel, despite the important growth shown. Compared to last season, 3 HE conquer the men’s semifinal (Lukas Patscheider, Sebastian Inderst and Giorgio Tonda) and 2 WE the women’s semifinal (Annarita Scalzotto and Giulia Dissette), only to fail to reach the final.
On Monday 25th of April in the Bosco delle Cesane in Fossombrone, the team once again gave life to an exceptional performance in the Italian Middle Distance Cup stage. Prestigious victories by Sebastian Inderst in H Élite, by Giulia Dissette in W 20 and Celeste Pretto in W14. Positive feedback also from the tests of Alessandro Bedin and Pierantonio Pretto.
“Very happy with this first place and the progress of the competition – declares Sebastian Inderst – I was able to start in control, enter the race and immediately find a good pace, pushing where I could slow down where I needed to read”.
“A very constructive weekend – comments the Team Manager Gabriele Viale – with only one regret: even though five athletes had access to the semifinal, the value added that would have allowed us to reach the final missed on Sunday. However, I saw solid foundations to build a future of great quality. Saturday 30th of April and Sunday 1st of May we will have two further decisive appointments with the Italian Sprint and Sprint Relay Championships. We worked hard to be protagonists, we’ll go have fun”.
