With a new season 2020 coming up shortly, our PWT Italia athlete Riccardo Scalet has flown to Monte Gordo, in the Southern Portuguese region of Algarve, to continue his preparation together with the Italian national T&F team.
A great training cooperation brought by strong synergies promoted by Park World Tour Italia, which allowed our runner to live a whole month together with international athletes such as Yeman Crippa (3rd at the recent XC European Championships), the Albanian record holder David Nikoli, Yassin Buhid, Mohamed Abdikadar, Johannes Chiappinelli and the Zoghlami twins, as well as experienced coaches, staff and physios.
Several tough weeks of training, with two or more sessions every day, but surrounded by never-ending pine forests, trails, sand dunes and with constant sunny weather, the workdays passed by quickly.
It has been far more than just two sports meeting, orienteering and track&field, as Riccardo acted as promoter not only of all PWT Italia initiatives but also of all the Italian orienteering movement.
We warmly thanks the Italian National T&F Team for the hospitality, all the crew, the coaches, and runners, and we are glad to say that this first cooperation will be repeated again in the future.
After almost a month of training camp, Riccardo will be back home for some days, and then he’ll move along with the rest of the PWT Italia Team to Oristano, Sardina, where our yearly Winter Camp will take place.
