We have finally reached the heart of the season, and this weekend the Park World Tour athletes took part in several competitions in Italy and abroad. In Italy, two Italian Cup trials were held between Bobbio and Ceci: a sprint on Saturday and a middle-distance race on Sunday. Meanwhile, two team members competed in Sweden in the Swedish League (Swedish Championships), taking part in two middle-distance races and running alongside some of the world’s strongest athletes. Among them were Mattia Debertolis and Sebastian Inderst.
Swedish League middle distance
In Sweden, the races were both middle – Friday the qualifying, Saturday the final.
Sebastian Inderst achieved a promising result, taking the B final after a 10th place in qualifying and finishing in a good 22nd place overall. More unfortunate was Mattia Debertolis, who took the C final after a more difficult qualifying.

Italian Cup: success in Bobbio
But most of the team was busy in Italy. On Saturday 9, in Bobbio, the results were very satisfying: two victories in the men’s field, for Francesco Scalzotto in M18 and Fabio Amadesi in ME, followed by his partner Marco Anselmo Di Stefano, 2nd in ME. The women also defended themselves well, with a 2nd and 3rd place respectively for Jessica Lucchetta and Guenda Zaffanella in WE.
On Sunday, for the middle distance in Ceci, the results were more restrained. The only podium place came again from Guenda Zaffanella, 3rd, and the long podium for Francesco Scalzotto, 4th.

Team manager Gabriele Viale comments: “These races, which we still consider to be preparatory ahead of the season’s highlight, have provided us with valuable insights. In particular, Sebastian Inderst and Mattia Debertolis, who also performed well in the Swedish championship, have proved themselves to be among the best. We are aiming to steadily reach the world top 10 with both of them within two years. We are satisfied with the results of the Italian Cup trials, both in terms of podiums and victories. The performances of winner Fabio Amadesi and runner-up Marco Di Stefano should be emphasised. They too confirm their growth within the group. Special mention also goes to Guenda Zaffanella and Jessica Lucchetta, who remain at the top of the Italian women’s scene — an excellent sign for the rest of the season. Finally, we are delighted by Francesco Scalzotto’s victory, which demonstrates that our young athletes are developing well.”
The season is still long, and there will be plenty of opportunities to succeed. Next weekend, many PWT athletes will be competing in selection races for the World Cup in Sweden (16–23 June 2025) and the World Championship in Finland in July. Let’s support them!
