The selections to the top events of the 2025 season have just come out. Last weekend’s selection races went very well for our PWT athletes, and now we have the official proof.

The first international event is just around the corner: it is the World Cup in Idre Fjäll, Sweden, from 15 to 23 June, where Jessica Lucchetta, Mattia Debertolis and Sebastian Inderst are among the selected athletes. This is not the end of the story for them: they will also participate in the World Championships in Kuopio, Finland, scheduled from 6 to 13 July.

“I am happy with the convocation,” says our athlete Jessica Lucchetta. “From last winter PWT Italia has been working on upgrading my techinical trainings, with a dedicated team of professionals. We have mainly been focusing on forest orienteering. I did a good job in the selection races, particularly in last Sunday’s race. Between now and July, I plan to train harder and harder, also in Scandinavia. I will start with the Jukola in Finland, then move on to the World Cup in Idre Fjäll, and arrive at the World Championships in July ready to do my best.”

This August, in Chengdu, China, the spotlight will be on the World Games. This is a multi-sport event reserved for disciplines not included in the Olympic programme, in fact they are held every four years in the year following the Olympic Games. Also on this occasion, the presence of PWT Italy is not missing: Mattia Debertolis, once again selected to compete, will be joined by Caterina Dallera.

“We are glad that 50% of the Azzurri athletes come from PWT Italy, with a balanced representation between men and women,” comments team manager Gabriele Viale. “These convocations confirm the effectiveness of the programming work we have been doing for years, the result of targeted training, quality training camps and maximum attention to the most deserving athletes. A special mention goes to Mattia Debertolis, who will participate in all three events: a clear demonstration of his value. We are proud of the path we have taken and increasingly convinced that the path chosen to enhance our athletes is the right one”.
