PWT Italia played a leading role at the 2026 Thematic Conference on ‘Physical Activity and Sport in Natural Environments’, held in Alghero from 13 to 15 June.
The event brought together leading experts in the field, featuring speakers from prestigious Italian and international universities. Promoted and sponsored by the Italian Society of Motor and Sports Sciences (SISMeS) in collaboration with various local authorities, this prestigious conference was organised by the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Sassari. During the session dedicated to major sporting events, notable contributions were made by PWT Italia’s representative, Giuseppe Simoni, who shared his practical experience in organising major sporting events, and by Dr Dario Carbini, head of the Orienteering4Research project, who presented the event “5+5 Sardinia – Research in Motion”. In collaboration with FISO Sardegna and federal coach Giusto De Colle, an orienteering demonstration was organised in the historic centre of Alghero. This flagship project combines top-level sport, the promotion of the Sardinian region and applied scientific research.
The initiative stems from the strategic partnership between Sardegna Ricerche and Park World Tour Italia.
