Double international commitment for Park World Tour Italia: Dallera at the World University Championship, Inderst in the World Cup
A week of great international visibility for Park World Tour Italia, engaged on two different fronts of world orienteering: on one side the World University Championship in Portugal, on the other the World Cup round in the Czech Republic.
Caterina Dallera at the World University Championship in Vila Real
Caterina Dallera, athlete of Park World Tour Italia, represented Italian University Sport at the FISU World University Championship Orienteering, held from 26 July to 1 August in Vila Real, Portugal. Led by national coach Stefano Raus, the Italian delegation — also made up of Francesco Mariani, Lorenzo De Biasi and Caterina De Nardis — took part in the full race programme, competing in the Knock-Out Sprint, Sprint Relay, Sprint and Middle events, on technical and varied terrain between the city’s historic centre and the Serra do Alvão.
An edition that has already brought satisfaction to the Italian university sport movement, with gold won by Francesco Mariani in the Sprint. For Caterina, a Civil Engineering student at Politecnico di Milano, the experience in Vila Real marks a further step in an intense international season, coming after the World Sprint Championships in Genoa.
Sebastian Inderst starts today at the World Cup in the Czech Republic
Change of scenery, but same colours: Sebastian Inderst starts today in the third round of the season’s Orienteering World Cup, taking place from 5 to 9 August in Vyšší Brod, Czech Republic. After a season dominated by sprint racing, the competition finally returns to the forest: it begins today with the qualification race, followed by the Long distance on 6 August, the Middle distance on the 8th, and the relay closing the programme on Sunday the 9th.
For Sebastian, this is his first international appearance of the year. It’s also a special moment on a personal level: he has recently become a father alongside Anna Caglio, and continues to live and train in Sweden, where he balances training with work.
